Foam dancing on the water’s edge,
the warm sand teasing toes,
God’s light topping waves.
Surely this is counted as a perfect day.

  1. This really could be a photograph! The colours are absolutely perfect and the power and drama in the painting is quite extraordinary! I would love one day to see a step-by-step of one of your paintings. Do you think you might do that one day? I would find it fascinating! Thank you so much by the way for your wonderful comment on my own painting. I have a long way to go to reach anywhere near your standard, but still, if you see something in it, that really does boost my confidence :0)

  2. Wow...this is so beautiful, Sandy! I love the complexity of the waves, and the reflections in the smooth bit of surf. Really wonderful job you did with the edges - soft and hard, lost and found.

Curious: what surface did you use for this piece?

  3. Hi Sandra,
Thanks so much for your kind comment. I love drama and water - I think they make such a thrilling painting subject! I have a youtube video of a seascape painting (and a few others). This is the link for the seascape: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEwXwDWXZgo
and you can find my others by viewing other video's by me (my youtube ID is ISEEHUE). Thanks for asking :).

Sonya, thanks for stopping by and for the nice comment. Though I generally work on Sennelier La Carte, I find myself quite drawn to the Pastelmat lately. That is what I used for this piece.

  4. Beautiful painting Sandy.! Beautiful title as well. The reflection in the water is so perfect..I used pastelmat for the painting I did of myself on my wedding day and I loved using it as well. Love this painting...you truly are a "Master".

  5. Hi there Sandy!... Your prose is as thoughtfully and skillfully crafted as each of your magnificent pastel paintings!

It is uplifting to share time... thoughts and process with another soul who is thankful for the blessings and time that we are given each day by our Creator to pursue our passion and work here on this beautiful planet!

Good painting!... and Happy Summer! I'll be back to visit for certain!

    Warmest regards,
    Bruce

  7. Hilda, my head is so big from the term "Master" that I can barely see the keys on my keyboard. Honestly, though, thank you for such a kind comment. I am glad to know you enjoyed the pastelmat, too.

Bruce, thank you for stopping by and for your kind and considerate comment. I truly could not agree with you more.

  8. Saw one of your pastels of Miss Biscuit on Daily Paintworks and follow her here. Your pastels are wonderful. The colors in your seascapes so nuanced and beautiful.
I, too, have a tuxedo cat so I truly appreciate your portraits of yours!
